Linda is a disciple of wabi-sabi philosophy. She believes that the coziness of home comes from the passage of time. Beauty is found in modest objects that serve humble needs from the living room to the closet, like a book shelf, a coat hanger, a wine rack and a jewelry box. Authenticity is expressed through imperfect finishes like the cast bronze, the forged iron and the multi-step lacquered wood where the ‘hand’ of the artisans are visible and appreciated in many of her signature designs for Pottery Barn.
